Oak View Landscaping In The Community

Something that everybody here at Oak View Landscapes believes in is a strong and clear commitment to the community. Whether this is through sponsorships, charity work and donations, or taking part in fun activities at local schools and facilities, we aim to make our work in the community a major part of our identity.

Here, you can see some of the various projects, challenges and campaigns we have been involved in.

Whilst being a profitable, successful business is of paramount importance to the Company as it strives to meet its business goals and targets, Oak View has a strong belief and commitment in giving support, help, donation and sponsorship to other organisations within the community.

Recent benefactors have included Essex Wildlife Trust, West Bergholt Cricket Club, Heathlands School, Bures United Youth Football Club, Greenfingers, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Colchester United Supporters Association Football Club.

The 3 Peaks Extreme Challenge

A team of intrepid landscapers and nurserymen, including Oak View’s Managing Director Paul Downer, completed the challenge of their lifetimes, raising funds for horticulture trade charity Perennial. The 3 Peaks Extreme Challenge team endured six grueling days climbing mountains and cycling 450 miles, finishing their epic journey on 11 September. They have so far raised over £16,000 to help Perennial support people in the horticulture industry during their times of need and this total is still growing.

The team hiked to the top of Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m) as well as cycling the 445 miles in between.

Paul Downer, Oak View’s MD, was part of the BALI Team that successfully completed the 3 peaks challenge raising over £15,000 for the Greenfingers Charity which creates magical gardens for children’s hospices around the UK.

Nick Racey City & Country Construction

“As a business which specialises in the creation of homes in historic and listed places we recognise the importance of creating landscapes which respect the buildings. My role places me between the construction team and the architect so I am well placed to see the lengths to which Oak View go in order to fully understand the brief. As a matter of course they find ways of working which save cost but never at the expense of the finished quality. They are also adept at communicating effectively throughout the project to ensure the best possible end result.”
